LOS ANGLES
Santa Monica, Down Town LA, Venice Beach & Hollywood.

SOLVANG
The Getty Villa, Malibu & Solvang.
Let the real road trip begin! We've covered our first miles on Highway 101. We made a stop at a beautifully tucked-away beach and visited The Getty Villa. Horseback riding with Skipper the horse was a blast, and we capped off the day with wine tasting at a vineyard.

MADONNA INN
San Luis Obispo.
This kitschy hotel is fantastic for an overnight stay. Each room has its own theme, and we really enjoyed our time in our pink bathrobes.

PASO ROBLES
Morro Bay, Paso Robles & San Simeon.
We've truly embraced motel life, enjoying the sunset from our balcony with a view of the parking lot while sitting in office chairs. It's delightful to drive through this beautiful wine region. The shell shop in the coastal town of Morro Bay was absolutely fantastic.

HIGHWAY 101
All it takes is one sentence: it's absolutely stunning.

MONTEREY
& SANTA CRUZ
Big Sur, Monterey, Pebble Beach,
Carmel-by-the-Sea & Santa Cruz.
We enjoyed a visit to the golf club in Pebble Beach, complete with lunch and a glass of wine. It felt like walking onto the set of an American movie. Spotting beautiful homes in Carmel-by-the-Sea was a delight—such stunning gems! And in Santa Cruz? We had a fantastic time filled with laughter and joy.
SAN FRANCISCO
San Francisco, how excited we were to visit you. But we were shocked by the contrast between rich and poor that you show. After witnessing car break-ins three times, we were done with it. It was a pleasure to see you, but I hope you can become a better place soon.

LAKE TAHOE
Napa Valley & Lake Tahoe.
A few glasses of wine in Napa Valley, and then off to Lake Tahoe. Even in the cold, it’s still possible to get sunburned! What a lovely atmosphere around the lake—campfires, live music, friendly people, and lots of laughter. The clay shooting was definitely a highlight.

YOSEMITE
How small we are among these immense chunks of earth rising into the sky. This national park is so vast, you feel like an ant. In the town where we stayed, there was a charming old-fashioned saloon — the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring.

SEQUOIA
We went high into the mountains to admire Sequoia National Park. Once inside the park, Ann got really sick from the altitude, so we crossed through it quickly to descend and continue driving toward Lone Pine. I had never seen such enormous trees.
LONE PINE & DEATH VALLEY
Welcome to the Wild West, baby! During our drive through Death Valley, I accidentally locked the keys in the trunk — with the car locked. Luckily, a passing car stopped, and the people inside offered to help us break a window. As a result, we spent an extra 10 hours on our way to Vegas because we had to detour to Los Angeles to get a new car. All of that in just one day.

LAS VEGAS
A fun-filled day without any photos.
GRAND CANYON
The temperatures were high, and we really enjoyed this impressive natural phenomenon. The long drives, vast stretches of untouched earth, and endless roads that seem to go on forever were amazing to experience. We had a great time at a glamping site run by a man who looked just like the Dutch TV personality Martien Meiland. Descending into the Grand Canyon was breathtaking, and the colors — I LOVED them!

HORSESHOE BEND
It was a few hours of detouring on the way to Palm Springs, but these terracotta colors made me completely happy.

PALM SPRINGS
The city of desert modernism — my dream to visit. I’m so in love with the style and elegance this desert city has to offer. Strolling through boutiques and taking pictures of the architecture is wonderful. Our stay was definitely just as stylish; we’re staying in the 'Mystery Machine.' We had so much fun!

JOSHUA TREE

Wondering what we ate?
We love wine and fine dining, but if you ask us, these tourist hotspots in the States don’t offer too many culinary delights. Since we needed to cut costs somewhere, we decided to save on food. The famous trunk breakfasts went over well at the beginning of the trip. Here are some highlights!
